About Jane MaxwellJane Maxwell was brought up in the north of England, one of the youngest in a family of six. She studied English Literature at the University of Manchester's Teacher Training College in Didsbury and spent the first 12 years of her teaching career in Zambia and Zimbabwe during the fight for Independence.
Whist there she travelled extensively throughout the Continent and came to love Africa and its wild life experiencing many exciting encounters with various animals. She returned to England with her husband in 1978 where she taught for a further 30 years before retiring in the Midlands. She continues to visit family in Southern Africa on a regular basis and enjoys visiting the game parks there. |
Having a love of Africa Jane Maxwell enjoys writing about animals and has a special love for elephants. Teaching in primary education for many years has given her a deep understanding of younger children and she also writes stories for younger readers. Her wide experience enables her to cover a range of genre.
When she returned to England Jane remained in touch with friends and family in Africa via email but became more seriously involved with Creative Writing when she attended a class in 2012. Her first novel 'Just Another African Adventure' was published in 2016
